Professor Don Easterbrook on The Looming Threat of Global Cooling

Professor of Geology Dr. Don Easterbrook's essay, The Looming Threat of Global Cooling, predicts on the basis of natural climate cycles such as the PDO that "global cooling for the next 2 to 3 decades will be far more damaging than global warming would have been." The paper also finds there were numerous, abrupt, short-lived warming and cooling episodes, much more intense than recent warming/cooling, during the last ice age, none of which could have been caused by changes in atmospheric CO2:

  1. nice Graph! but with a small downside: It is forged from this original

  2. "forged" is ridiculous, credit is given to the data source from the GISP ice core, the data from which is not owned by Richard Alley

  3. Please look at the original - there is an arrow at the right side of the graph, just at the last bit, named "Little Ice Age" In the forged graph this very part is re-labeled "Present global warming". Labels of a graph dont get moved around and misleading labels dont appear by chance. Yes, deliberately forged.

    1. Oh please, the LIA arrow is a bit misplaced, but so what? The LIA ended in 1850 and the present global warming arrow is correct. Doesn't change any of the conclusions of the post or Easterbrook's analysis. "Forged" is, once again, ridiculous.

Here's a blowup of the ice core data for natural climate change deniers such as yourself:

    2. "Misplaced"?! One arrow by chance - a very small maybe. Two arrows "misplaced" and a third inserted at the wrong position? With a false claim? Deliberately forged - with one possible different explanation: the maker of this graph just has absolutely no clue what he or she is doing - sending this graph to the bin anyway.

    3. Doesn't change any of the claims or conclusions of the post or Easterbrook's analysis whatsoever. "Forged" is, once again, ridiculous.
